Shelter Updates aka A Plea for Help!

Dear Loyal Fans of Canine Pal,

Do accept our sincere apologies for not getting in touch with you in this blog lately in regards to the updates of dogs at the shelter.

Due to our busy work commitments - PS: the volunteers @ Canine Pal are all holding full time jobs. We need to juggle work and physically attending to the many dogs that had unfortuately, fallen ill were seriously, no joke! sigh... :(

At the same time, it was also a stressful period for us as we had to overcome the painful loss of our two lovely dogs, Jia Jia in Jun and Fu Fu in July respectively.

Recently, Rabbit, the dog that was rescued off Sungei Kadut industrial estates had been showing signs of ear hematoma - a firm, fluid-filled swelling within his ears. Previously, Big Mac @ 大麦 had shown similar symptons but had thankfully, recovered.

Last week, Nappy had continuous nose bleed which was quite extensive and required the intervention of the vet to stop the bleeding. It was alarming and pretty scary since we were all novices when it come to nose bleed! He was discharged from clinic and is now happily back at the shelter.

Dot Dot was unwell for a while but he has now been eating. Hopefully, he puts on more weight in time to come. Or could he been awaiting the arrival of his female owner whom had cruelly abandoned him? We are not certain but praying hard that one day, she would be able to reunite with this lovely boy.

Lately, Bear Bear and a couple of the dogs had skin problems which we are still monitoring. If the need arises, we will have to send them in to the vet for a thorough checkup to determine the cause of the underlying problem.

Meanwhile, we sincerely appeal for kind sponsors to help defray the cost to meet the needs of the above so that we can continue to help more needy strays. :)

Our WISH list:
1) Dry/canned food
2) Transportation of dogs to the vet.
3) Doggy medical bills - payment directly to the clinic.
4) Cremation fees of a dog's remain - payment directly to the cremation company.
5) Spending quality time with the dogs during the wkends at the shelter.

In turn, we would be glad to acknowledge your kind contributions by publishing your names in our blog and Facebook as an appreciation for your kindness and participation.

Drop us an email canine_pal@yahoo.com.sg to inform us.

PS: Due to our busy work commitments and juggling with the sick dogs in the shelter, we might not be in time to constantly update in this blog. However, please rest assure that we strive to continue bringing you daily updates in our Facebook via iphone.

If you have yet to add us as a friend in Facebook, do search under "Canine Pal" to simply connect with us will do.

Lastly, on behalf of the dogs at Canine Pal, a big "THANK YOU" for your kind generosity, time and continuous support for the strays!

God bless you in the meantime, take care and till then...

Phuket

Phuket is also one of the strays whom we rescued from the expressway. A "Ba Ba" lookalike, sometimes, we ended up calling the wrong name when both stood together!

A lovely and cheerful gal who is good with dogs and human.

Do give her a chance to be adopted.

Moo Moo

Moo Moo is the daughter of Moo Moo bull, where both had given birth many times! The unfortunate thing was when Moo Moo bull was knocked down by a heavy vehicle and Moo Moo was left alone to fend for herself.

Hence, we decided that it was time for us to do something to help the lone Moo Moo. After many attempts of trapping and YES! including tranquilization, we finally caught her whilst she was drowsy and brought her in for sterilisation. PHEW!

Moo Moo has been with us since then and she is quite a senior as at to date. Sometimes, she still behaves like a little puppy wagging her tail, this chubby and sweet gal!

Drop us an email if you wish to visit her.

Xiao S @ 小 S

小 S is a loveable and independent gal whom does not get into any fights in the shelter. She has nice temperament and good with dogs and humans.
